Midway through the second half, Foden and Gvardiol scored for City, but Valverde equalized the score again with a beautiful goal in the 32nd minute. The Champions League quarter-final clash ended in a draw, leaving everything open for the next game.
Rodrygo and Vinicius Jr. stood out once again against English teams in the Champions League. Rodrygo scored his sixth goal in the round of 16 of the competition, three of them against Manchester City, while Vinicius Junior contributed two assists, totaling 16 games against teams in England.
